AAL: Active Assisted Living

Demographic change, combined with a shortage of skilled workers and money in the care sector, is changing the way we spend the last third of our lives. Care is increasingly becoming a family responsibility, which means that people have to dig deep into their pockets. This is a social time bomb that many people and politicians are not yet aware of.

One solution: AAL – Active Assisted Living. This term refers to assistive technologies and concepts that enable people to live as long and as independently as possible in good health and with a high quality of life. In care organisations, they relieve the burden on staff, increase quality and make the organisation as a whole more responsive. The result of this market survey is a map of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks of assistive technologies.
